ISPCA FUNDRAISER 24th October

Pupils in Senior class can purchase homework passes (a maximum of 3 per pupil) priced at €2 each and get a break from homework for a great cause, we hope to visit the ISPCA in Keenagh, Co Longford before Christmas.

Slatta N.S Walk on Wednesday – part of the Green Schools Ireland walking week 15th May 2013

Please take part in our initiative on Wednesday 15th May and walk to school with your child/ren or if old enough allow them to walk alone or with some friends. Please observe the code of conduct for the rules of the road and ensure that they wear high visibilty jackets – these have been provided in school in the past.All schools who take part can enter a draw for €100 for their green schools committee. In keeping with our green schools ethos and action plan this year instead of everyone buying new cards , we made our cards from recycled materials!




International Green Schools Day 7th November

We all took part in a world wide initiative to promote the green ethos in our school. The students all wore green clothing as a symbol of our committment to reducing our carbon footprint. Our Green schools project is progressing well and we are thoroughly enjoying the challenge!




Eco schools website and world day of action for Slatta N.S

We are now members of the International green schools movement known as Eco-Schools and hope in the near future to connect with a school across the globe to learn what other countries are doing to receive their award.We will participate in the World Day of Action on November 7th 2012 alongside almost 300 other schools. We have decided to all wear an item of green clothing that day to signify our committment to protecting and improving the environment. To visit the Eco-Schools website go to the following  link.
