Pupils of 1st and 2nd classes are invited to attend their ceremony for First Confession , the sacrament of Penance on Tuesday 28th March at 7.30 p.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel church Rooskey.
We will hold our annual Spring clean and school Open Day on Thursday 6th April 2017 from 1 p.m. Pupils will go out on local roads from 1 to 2 pm. to clean and gather waste. We will return to the school at 2 o’ clock and have our Open Day for all parents and families of existing pupils and for prospective new parents and pupils to visit the school and see the great facilities we offer here in Slatta N.S … going strong since 1891.
Slatta National School put on a wonderful performance of the Christmas Play ‘The Sleepy Stargazer’ on Wednesday 21st December. We had a full house of enthusiastic audience members who all enjoyed the show by our talented cast. Thank you everyone who attended.

The doctors and nurses were working very hard in this surgery curing the many injuries that turned up. We even had a teddy heart transplant!

Slatta NS took part in the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Team Hope share the Shoebox Gifts with children in Africa and Eastern Europe.
We at Slatta NS are delighted to be involved with Team Hope, bringing excitement and laughter to children in need at Christmas.

We are taking part in Maths Week, enjoying Maths All Around Us!
We are doing lots of maths activities in class and maths games for homework.
We also went to Creative Ardagh, Co. Longford and went on a maths trail discovering many different shapes and angles in the world around us.
We made some interesting creatures using crunchy leaves!
